Sterling and Ella wanted to send a big "Happy Birthday" to their best buddy back in the states who is celebrating a very exciting first birthday today. Happy birthday Maddox and congratulations to his family on this very special day. Or as we say here in Korea... saeng il chuka hamida.
Today was Heather's birthday also. Thank you to everyone who sent cards, postcards, and gifts from the states. She was really surprised and I think really touched to receive birthday greetings from strangers from the United States! I think we may keep up the postcards idea. It's very exciting to see the variety of states the cards come from; so if you're traveling this summer, we'd love it if you dropped a postcard in the mail for Heather!
What an exciting day for birthdays! Today was also Seung Hwan's birthday.
With all these birthdays today, we needed a cake to celebrate. Actually, Michael baked the cake, I just decorated it...and in case you're wondering, yes it was very edible and yummy. The cake reads saeng il chuka hamida which translates to 'birthday congratulations' the Hangul equivalent to 'happy birthday'.
