September 9- Daddy is the coolest

It doesn't matter what Michael is doing...you can count on Sterling to not be far behind. Sterling thought it was great fun to watch Daddy fly a kite on the beach. At one point Michael even handed Sterling the kite string...you've never seen a Daddy so proud to watch his son fly a kite. So sweet!
What more could a girl ask for? A bucket, some shovels, and the world's largest sand box!
This is one little water girl. She loved playing in the waves as they washed on shore.
Frolicking in the waves.
Dinner at the Ocean Room.
From L-R: Billy, Courtney, Michael, Jennifer, and Charlie.
We all had an excellent dinner this evening (Mom was there too...snapping the picture). We ate way too much, sampled a variety of fine foods, and then topped it all off with decedent chocolate tortes and Meyers lemon tarts. Truly a delicious and relaxing evening!
Whoot! Whoot! for babysitters!
Tonight we had a babysitter from the resort come to the condo to sit with the kids while we went out to dinner with everyone. The kids were actually already in bed by the time we left for dinner, but we were still a little nervous being away from them. Never the less, we had a wonderful and relaxing evening without the dumplings in tow.
A little over a year ago, my brother, sister and I weren't sure we would ever see our mother alive again as we watched her being wheeled off to surgery. We were simply praying that she make it through the transplant. It was the best we could hope for. None of us could have been so bold to ask for or even imagine a year later we would all be frolicking seaside. We spent 7 long hours wondering whether or not a person can become an orphan once they're an adult. Tonight we all reflected and celebrated with great joy, the miracle of this past year. Mom is in excellent health now, and continues to get stronger every day. We are still a family; a family looking back on a life changing event that left each of us a little more grateful for the ties that bind us all together.
