September 1- Double "wide load"
After another very bad night, Grammy and Ashley were up with the birds and taking all 4 babies for a morning walk! Ashley spent the night at Grammy’s house to help with all these babies (and secretly I miss her like crazy and was very excited to get to spend time with her). Of course, after the very long night we had, I’m not sure she’ll ever have children of her own. Sterling screamed from 2-5am…nonstop. At firs it didn’t bother Ella, but eventually even she couldn’t stand to listen to him anymore. By 5am, we finally found silence with Ella sleeping between Ashley and I, and Sterling passed out on top of me. Have I mentioned how much I hate jet lag?
Can you tell that these three are excited to see each other? This is the first time we’ve gotten together with Maddox where all babies were really close to being on the same developmental plane, and very similar in sizes. The last time Ella and Sterling saw Maddox, he was still a tiny baby (not that they were that much bigger). I remember last Christmas, I was very afraid Ella was going to hurt him by poking him in the eye. Well, Maddox certainly doesn’t need to worry about Ella any more. No sir! Today Ella and Maddox weighed the exact same…23.2 lbs. She may still have and inch or 2 on him in height (she is 4 months older after all), but he can keep up in every other way! These three spent the entire day running around after each other, and playing with every single toy at Grammy’s house. When they all finally went down for their naps, the house looked like a toy bomb had exploded!
After a brief trip home from the marina where Michael is overseeing the work on our boat, he and Todd were back out the door again…leaving behind 3 very sad babies. Have I mentioned exactly how attached Sterling is to Michael?
“Here Maddox, let me test the rocking on this chair for you.” Ella thinks Maddox and Lucy’s baby sized rockers are just perfect!
