January 25- Snowy Wonju
We’ve had a snowy weekend here. Not much has accumulated, but it’s been very pretty watching it fall. Needless to say, the continuing snow is a contributing factor to why we still have no water. We’re going a little stir crazy sitting inside all day, but it’s just a little too cold to take the kids out.
Looking up our street towards Chiak Mountain.
S.O.S! Help Aunt Jenn! Save me! It’s cold here in Korea! I’d like to come live in the delta now!
Love, Doe Doe the dog.
No one but my sister could fall in love with this stupid dog. Scratch that, Michael loves this dog…and Ella too. Okay, so maybe I’m the only one who really doesn’t love Youn Doe Dee the dog. I think he may be getting the shots he needs to become a US citizen and making the flight to Mississippi very soon.
Day 3 of no water. At least Ella and Sterling are enjoying playing with the water bottles we’ve stock piled. This would also be day 3 with no baths for babies, so these are some stinky babies! I see a trip to the gym showers looming in our future.
This is Ella’s new favorite “chore”. She’s in charge of letting the dog in and out. If the dog goes to the door, Ella will run over and slide the door open for him, then close it behind him. Then when he comes back and scratches at the door, she’ll let him back in. She’s very proud of herself, and will smile at you like “aren’t I a big helper?” Does it even need to be said that this little girl is offering the dog lots of opportunities to go in and out all day?
Today was a day for saying goodbye to a part of babyhood. This afternoon I converted our combo from a changing table into just a dresser. The reason for this comes on the heels of what we woke up to this morning. Remember the picture of Michael I mentioned Sterling reaching last week? Well, I thought I had moved it far enough to the other side of the dresser that he couldn’t reach it, but I was wrong. This morning we woke up to find that he had pulled the picture into his crib again and was sleeping with it. So, it was clearly time I clear off the dresser next to his crib, and move all the books and pictures from the top of it to the other dresser that is no where near their cribs. We actually haven’t gotten very much use out of this changing table. The nursery is upstairs, and I simply don’t feel like carrying each baby up the stairs every time they need a diaper change through out the day. Really our changing table was collecting dust, but I still loved seeing it. So gone is our changing table now and in its place is a dresser suitable for big girls and boys. Sniff, sniff.
This little Elmo live toy really is pretty cute. If you push the button on his foot he tells you a little story. The kids love to listen to Elmo tell them the story of "Elmo and the beanstalk".
Sterling lands a kiss on his bestest friend mid-play. What a sweet boy!
This little girl loves to practice being a mama to her babies. Every night before bed she tucks each of her baby dolls into their crib, then gives them a night-night kiss and a little rocking. What a good little mommy!
