Watching the lighting of the tree.
Tonight was the lighting of the Christmas tree at Camp Eagle. The orphans came from the orphanage to join us in lighting the tree, followed by a Christmas party afterwards. It was a very special Christmas party indeed!
After the tree was lit, the children from the orphanage put on little performances, including dancing to Christmas songs as well as favorite Korean pop songs. Such fun! I think everyone in the crowd went wild over these precious angels.
After the tree was lit, all the children went inside to warm up and decorate Christmas cookies. Lots of soldiers showed up to lend a hand with the children. It was heart warming to watch these soldiers helping these precious children decorate their cookies.
Nothing has put me in the Christmas spirit like this evening. It was hands down the most special and memorable Christmas party I have ever been to. Watching these beautiful children enjoy this Christmas past time with these soldiers who are separated from their loved ones this holiday season filled my heart with the joy of the season. I truly don't know who enjoyed it more, the children or the soldiers!
Sterling was too busy running circles to care much about decorating the cookies. I’m afraid to think about how many cookies he must’ve eaten to give him such energy!
Count this pretty little Christmas dress as another hand me down (more like a “borrow”) from Lorelai and Katelyn. What we would do without those two pretty girls to pass us their pretty dresses to wear? Thank you again!
Sterling wanted nothing to do with Santa this year. Even from his protective perch in Daddy’s arms, he still didn’t want to be within touching distance of the scary fellow. Candy or no candy, he didn’t have any smiles for Santa this year.
This is exactly what Ella thought of old Santa Claus. She didn’t cry, she didn’t run away, but she certainly didn’t friendly up to him. Who cares if that old man has candy? He has a terrible sense of fashion and is in poor need of a shave. She’ll have none of that, thank you very much.
