January 06- A very special day
Ella: Hey Sterling, I think Mommy went a little overboard posting pictures from our baptism.
Sterling: Pictures?! How does my hair look?
Ella offers fair warning....
Today was a monumental day in Ella and Sterling’s lives. This morning they were baptized at Florence First United Methodist Church by Reverend Gary Formby at the 11 o’clock service. It was a very special day for our family, and we were so proud of the babies. Just before leaving for church, Michael and I were saying that we were really expecting a lot of the twins- baptism in front of the entire congregation, sitting through the remainder of the service, pictures afterwards, and then a brunch in their honor at the Marriott Shoals immediately following. We knew we were expecting too much from them, but they really surprised us and did fantastic! They were happy, sweet babies the entire day. Neither baby cried when being baptized, and they both pulled lots of jokes when being walked through the congregation- lots of raspberries and giggles, hand clapping and “ba, ba, ba, bas.” It was a beautiful and very touching service, made even more special with the attendance of Aunt Jennifer, Grand-Mere, and Grandmother who had all come to Florence to witness the baptism.
We brought the babies to church in their jammies so we wouldn’t crumple their gowns in their car seats, then they got dressed in the bride’s room. Ella had to inspect Sterling’s gown and make sure he was all put together. I loved their gowns. Ella’s was an ivory Strausburg gown, and Sterling’s was a white with ivory piping and decoration Strausburg gown. Hopefully these gowns will become a family heirloom to be passed along to their children!
Well, that's one way to keep that crazy hair down- put a bonnet on it.
Ella & Sterling, God claims you. God helps you, protects you, and loves you too. On this day, for all to see, you have joined God's family.

Baby Maddox and his parents Todd and Becky came to the baptism as well (that's baby GIRL Locke in her Mommy's belly). Maddox was a VERY good baby too. I just can't get over how well all these little ones did.
3 Generations of daughters
Family members and close friends joined us to honor Ella and Sterling with a brunch at the Marriott Shoals' Bronzeback Cafe. I think I can safely say we all had a wonderful time eating some good food, and enjoying good conversation. Thank you again to everyone who attended.
Our sweet little friend Ashley surprised us by singing a solo at the service. She sounded just like an angel singing One Small Child. Ashley and her boyfriend, Taylor, joined us for a yummy brunch afterward.
