December 24- Daddy learns a new skill

Michael was so excited to play with the babies; he began asking promptly at 7am if he was allowed to wake them up yet. Clearly he's jet lagged (he had been awake since 4am), and even worse, he had obviously forget how much I value my sleep. Wake the babies up? Are you kidding me? I was able to hold him off until 7:30, at which point he could wait no longer. So, Ella and Sterling had an early start today. They got to show Daddy how much fun they have playing with their toys now, and how well they eat their oatmeal and fruit every morning.
Looks like Daddy has got the hang of this thing. Maybe he can do breakfast duty from now on and let Mommy sleep in for the first time in over 9 months?

At last! I'm so excited! We finally got a new family picture made. Ella and Sterling certainly have grown since our last family pic, huh? I'm in love with this picture! This is my dream come true.

We had this pcture framed, which made it difficult for me to scan it, hence Michael's head is a little chopped off. I must say, getting the kids pictures made is sooo much easier with another person around.

His little suit just cracks me up! When he's the CEO of a Fourtune 500 corporation, we can all look back and say this is where it all started.

Daddy and his lil' princess. Or more appropriately titled "Michael and his mini-me." Everyone always talks about how much Ella looks like her Daddy, so I'm sure a lot of people will get a kick out of this picture. Sitting together it really is amazing how much they favor. But she still has Mommy’s eyes! Hey, I deserve SOME credit for our beautiful daughter, don’t I?

This is the picture Michael will use on the campaign trail when he runs for mayor of Florence! Ha! Ha!
Hum, wonder where Ella and Sterling were while Daddy and Mommy had their picture made?

These are a few of my favorite things. Who am I kidding? These ARE my favorite things! Have you ever seen anything so sweet in your entire life? Makes the past four months being separated seem like a distant memory. Michael put hair product on our little fuzz bucket, but honestly, I am kind of sad his hair isn't all crazy looking.

We spent this evening at my Uncle Billy (my Dad’s brother) and Aunt Anne's house, just like we have for so many Christmas Eve's past. We love getting together with my cousins Katie (18), Ellie (15), and Annie (12), and always have a wonderful time. This year of course, was particularly exciting for everyone having Ella and Sterling around. The food was delicious, and the company superb. Unfortunately, Ella and Sterling didn’t get to bed until 10pm! Needless to say they were falling apart at the seams and very happy to see their cribs. They must’ve known Santa was on his way, and didn’t want to find any good babies still awake.

You can see which side of the family Sterling favors when he’s with his 2nd cousins. We think he looks most like Katie. They LOVED doting on the little boy.

Santa made it to our house tonight. He brought this great little red wagon for Ella and Sterling who have been very good this year, and had fallen sound asleep after a long day. Sadly, his elves were so busy this year they didn’t have time to assemble it. So, Daddy was up until midnight putting it and a few other toys together. No worries, I think it was a very proud moment for Daddy Claus.
