So this is where Daddy grew up.
The babies got to breathe some fresh and clean air while Daddy pulled them around the farm in their little red wagon for the “grand tour.” There are plenty of new and interesting sights to behold; in fact, it’s almost like their Baby Einstein “Old MacDonald” video come to life. There are cows and chickens, and all sorts of new animals to see!
I’ve posted a picture of the bear hat Daddy brought Sterling back from Korea. Now this is the very pink and girly hat he brought home for his little girl. The little ear muffs crack me up! She looks like she should be standing on a mountain somewhere yodeling!
Daddy and Sterling try out Grandpa’s new tractor. Sterling says the seat is quite comfy!
Here come the cows! Grandpa Larry (Michael’s stepdad) calls the cows in for some breakfast, and to give Ella and Sterling the opportunity to see a real live cow up close! Sterling of course thought they were pretty funny with all their moo-ing(from the safe view in Daddy’s arms). Ella on the other hand was a little more skeptical and attempted to glare down the beasts.
Grandmother shows Ella a magical Christmas decoration while they wait for the party guests to arrive. All of Michael’s family came over to his mother’s house to celebrate Christmas. It was a lovely party with delicious foods including a yummy turkey compliments of Grandmother (who may have had a little help from Paula Dean). Oh, and the red velvet and coconut cakes were not to be forgotten either! Most of all, I think Michael was excited to see several of his cousins whom he hadn’t seen since leaving for Korea.
One thing is for certain, these babies are not short cousins (especially the second and third type). Molly was so excited to look after her baby cousins (3rd?). Mommy actually got to enjoy the party too! Thanks Molly. Just a few more years and you’re hired!
We also made it to Michael's father and stepmother's house for a holiday visit. Grandma Sandy under went knee surgery just a few short weeks ago. Looks like that new knee is working like a charm as she helps Sterling learn to walk! They were excited to see the twins for the holidays, and passed a Wooten tradition along to them. Each baby received the customary quarter and a piece of gum, plus a few other goodies (grandparents love to spoil, right?).
