Michael picked up the Durango from Seoul on Wednesday. Our car made the long journey here via ship. Sadly, it didn't make it here in one piece. As you can see in the picture, it's had some front end damage, and is missing it's grill now. Well, the grill was there when Michael first saw it, but one good shake and it fell off. No one has told us what happened in transit, but it appears another car my have rolled back into ours on the ship. Michael went by the claims office before leaving Seoul, and they're already working to process our claim so we may get it fixed! So it will be good as new soon. I don't care- I'm just so happy to have a bigger, safer car here than the little rumbly Daewoo.
Sterling and Ella are glad our car has arrived too, because their new car seats were in it. And it couldn't have arrived in better time. The car seats we had here fit up to 21 lbs. I'm pretty sure Sterling is at least 21 lbs. now, possibly more. So, it's on to the big toddler seats! And don't these seats look cozy? I don't think they've loved riding around in the infant seats these past 6 weeks.
There are certain things you really miss when far away from the states. The obvious thing you miss most is family and friends. But you also really start to miss American food. While we have really enjoyed trying all sorts of new and interesting fare, there's something comforting and familiar about American food. So, tonight we went to Outback! Yep, they have an Outback here in Wonju, and the menu is almost the same (maybe a little smaller). It was so yummy, probably because it's been a while since we've eaten in an American establishment. We did find two new foods the kids really like (no, not steak!). Ella really likes slices of cucumber (like from a salad), and Sterling loved the steamed broccoli. So, how does the commercial go? "Let's go Outback tonight....life will still be here tomorrow."
