December 11- The problem with cribs....

....is they act as a wonderful jungle gym for little girls! Ella spends her nights sleeping in a pack-n-play at Grand-Mere's house. She's slept in the pack-n-play since she was 4 months old and became too active to sleep with her brother anymore. Sadly, she now doesn't equate her crib with sleepy time. In fact, she believes her crib to be a place of great entertainment, with plenty of rails to pull herself up on. Getting her to go to sleep at night and for her naps has been nothing short of WW III since we've been here. She can't resist the urge to pull up and look around. She's particularly fascinated that she can see brother in the next crib over. It's just terrible. Her Daddy was up till the wee hours of the morning before he left for Korea assembling her beautiful custom crib. We have witnesses that place him up sometime after midnight last October assembling not one, but two cribs for his future babies. And now his daughter simply will not sleep in her crib. Sheesh!!

If you'd like your own room please raise your hand. Sterling hasn't gotten a good night's sleep either with all of his sister's escapades. How can a person sleep with someone yelling at you from the other side of the room?

Michael and I were so excited to put together this nursery while I was pregnant, and I just realized that most people have never even seen it. Sadly, it has gotten very little use. When the kids were first born I kept them in a bassinet next to the bed. A very cozy arrangement for newborn twins I might add. Then they transferred to the nursery about a month before we left for Korea. After that they slept in their Korean nursery (certainly not as cute). Then we've been at Grand-Mere's house for much of the time since we've been back stateside. When we move our household goods to Korea, we'll finally be able to set up a nursery the kids will be able to use for a longer period of time. Gypsies. That's what we are!
