Update

I want to thank everyone who has been keeping my Mom in their thoughts and prayers, please keep them coming.

Mom has stabilized and was able to move out of the ICU on Sunday. Her doctor was very scared we were going to lose her when she crashed on Thursday night, but she’s doing much better all things considered. She will be transferred to Emory either Monday or Tuesday, where a liver transplant team is already awaiting her arrival. Once she gets to Emory she will have approximately a weeks worth of testing ahead of her to determine her placement on the liver recipient registry. At this point we still are unsure of how soon she can hope to receive a new liver, but we should know more by the end of the week. The doctors are saying she will not be going home until she gets a new liver, but how soon that will be is still not known. We will be solidifying our travel plans for our return to the states once we know more. I will continue to keep everyone posted via this blog, so please keep checking back. Again, thank you to everyone who has kept Mom in their thoughts and prayers during this time.
