Moving on up

To that deluxe apartment in the sky.....

We may be moving. Possibly as early as next week. Our Realtor, Ms. Byun, found us a new villa just up the street from where we are now. The very best perk about this new villa is- it has an elevator! Hip Hip Hooray! It's a pretty nice villa. It's a 4 bedrooms, 2 bath, with a nice size kitchen, and separate family room, and two balconies. It also has a washer/dryer combo so we can stop going on base to the laundry mat every weekend. And it has 110 volt electrical outlets, which will be great. I've been a little afraid that we were going to burn our apartment down with the number of things we have plugged into our transformers (they use 220 volt electricity here). And we all know Michael's bad luck with apartment fires!

We're having it inspected by the Army housing office on Monday (a requirement), but as long as it clears inspection we will be allowed to move in ASAP. I can't tell you how excited I am about not having to climb 5 flights of stairs anymore. We're still on the top floor, but with an elevator, who cares? It's really very neat. It has a drive under parking deck, then you have private elevators that take you right to your door. And, on the first floor there's a nice, grassy courtyard with picnic tables on top of the parking deck. It will be so nice to be able to take the children down and let them crawl around in the grass when it gets a little cooler. Oh, and just as exciting as the elevator is the fact that there's a wall unit A/C in the master bedroom. Of course there's no central heating and air, just another Whisen in the family room, but the extra unit in the master bedroom will be so nice to have! We may end up having to drag the crib into our bedroom until it gets cooler just so we can all enjoy sleeping in the nice cool air.

So keep your fingers crossed that the apartment passes inspection and we're able to move. Hopefully by this time next week we'll be calling "Prime Villa" home!
