The cupcake versus the rice cake

Mijin Chi, one of the sweetest girls in the whole world, sent these rice cakes to work with her husband for Michael to bring home. I THINK they must be left from their wedding this past weekend. I didn't realize rice cakes could come in such a variety of shapes and colors! The only time I've tried them was at the Chi's house the night we had dinner there (see July 25th entry). They're certainly a very different kind of cake- no eggs, sugar, or butter here! I guess it's no wonder Koreans are typically smaller in size than Americans. I still say bring on the cupcake! Yum.
