September 2009

September rolls in and we continue to acclimate to our new environment. While we still miss Korea terribly, it's been fun watching the kids get to know family they haven't seen most of their lives. They've also started to experience some very American things.

They're first day of school! They started dayschool at our church two days a week. Tuesdays and Thursday they're at FUMC from 9-1pm.

They're in Ms. Ruth's class. There are actually three teachers in the classroom...all little old ladies. I don't know how much actual "schooling" is going on, but they seem to be having fun interacting with all the other children in their class, and it's a nice break for mommy. I still have a whole house to unpack with more household goods being delivered everyday it seems!

And my favorite part of our new house? There are enough rooms to make one of the downstairs bedrooms a playroom! I can't tell you how much I love it! All the toys have a room all to their own, and the decorating theme in the house doesn't have to be "toys"! The kids love it too, and spend a lot of time in there.

We also took a trip down to Gulf Shores to watch Uncle Billy participate in a triathlon. Go Uncle Billy! He did great, and we enjoyed the excuse to take a trip to the beach. Needless to say, the waters were a lot calmer than those on the beaches of Jeju...thank heaven!

It's been an exciting time in our lives. We miss Daddy who is still in Korea, and look forward to his return to the states next month before he ships out to Kuwait for a year. And we continue to be grateful to have each other...someone to offer you a hand up when you need one.
